Job Description For Stauros Ministries Treasurer
As Treasurer for Stauros Ministries, there are a number of skills needed to perform the job. You will need to be able to volunteer, on average, 5-10 hours a month.
- Communicate with donors via letter, e-mail and on the phone, as necessary
- Possess organizational skills regarding documentation, filing and record keeping
- Ability to understand the principles and procedures of bookkeeping and record keeping
- Knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks
- Maintaining bookkeeping databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed
- Manage and record donations received
- Deposit donations, made by check, at the bank
- Monitor and maintain donations through PayPal
- Write outgoing checks to subcontractors and Accounts Payable
- Send subcontractors a monthly report of donors
- Reconcile bank statements each month (optional)
- Attend quarterly board meetings to provide the Board of Directors with a current Profit &
- Loss Statement and Budget Report
- Provide the budget for the next year, with the input of the President, at the fall Annual
- Board of Directors Meeting
- Provide end-of-year 1099-NEC to all paid contractors
- Provide IRS with Form 1096
- Send all donors their end-of-year statement
- Provide Accountant with statements and general ledger for preparing taxes
- In April of each year, ensure the Property tax Form is completed and sent
